The EU P2P Dual-use Project organised a first training session in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar from October 24 to 27, 2016.
This seminar was the first major step in the EU-Myanmar cooperation in the field of strategic trade control as decided by the road map discussed during the initial visit conducted in July 2016.
It will be followed by additional National Training Seminars and the invitation of Myanmar officers to regional and global Events.
Fruitful exchanges took place between the participants and the project team as all presentations raised a lot of questions from the audience in a lively context. Representatives of Department of Trade, Department of International Organizations and Economic, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Department of Marine Transport, Department of Civil Aviation, Road Transport Administration Department,Department of Mines, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Medical Services, Department of Investment and Company Administration, Custom Department, Union Attorney General's Office, The Supreme Court of the Union, UMFCCI (Union of Myanmar Federation of Chanbers of Commerce) and Myanmar International Freight Forwarders' Association- MIFFA took part to the event.
The training session was organized by Department of Trade and opened by Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency Toe Aung Myint, and Mr. Vincent Trouvé from the EU PMT.
