On January 27th, an initial visit took place in the Philippines as part of the EU Programme on Dual-Use Export Controls in order to further define how cooperate with the EU in the field of trade control of Dual-Use Goods.
The team was hosted by the national CBRN focal point and met with representatives from around a dozen departments and committees. Taking place shortly after the signing of the Strategic Trade Management Act, the focus of the discussions was around the Act’s implementation. Several potential areas of assistance and training were identified that would assist the Philippines in preparing the implementing regulations and establishing a Strategic Trade Management Office.
